Bev Sidders Skincare Glossary

Polyphenols

Polyphenols are a large group of about 4,000 naturally occurring antioxidant plant products found in fruits, vegetables, nuts, flowers, bark and seeds, etc.   Some well-known polyphenols include: green tea, pomegranate fruit extract, grape seed proanthocyanidins, resveratrol, silymarin, genistein and delphinidin.

Polyphenols are also potent skin-care ingredients, used for their potential role in skin photoprotection and prevention of photocarcinogenesis in humans.  Applied topically, polyphenols can help repair and rejuvenate your skin.

Polyphenols can also help reverse signs of aging like sun spots, fine lines, and wrinkles—making them a staple in anti-aging products

It’s the same magic ingredient that makes red wine and dark chocolate so great!
